These industry-standard insulations can have a global warming potential (GWP) as high as 1300 (134a) and 950 (245a). In contrast, the foam-blowing agent cyclopentane has a GWP of approximately 10. When it comes to GWPs, the lower the number is, the better it is for the environment, so cyclopentane is clearly the more environmentally friendly choice.
Cyclopentane increases the efficiency of the #insulation foam by approximately 4 percent over the R134a foam currently used in most refrigeration products.
