Weekly Market Report: n-Heptane Prices
As of November 1, 2025, the average domestic price of n-Heptane stood at RMB 14,400 per metric ton, representing a week-on-week decrease of RMB 900, or -5.88%. Converted at the current exchange rate of 7.1, the price equals approximately USD 2,028/MT.
This downward movement indicates a short-term correction in the n-Heptane market, primarily due to sluggish demand from the pharmaceutical and fine chemical sectors. While production remained stable, downstream buyers adopted a cautious purchasing strategy amid volatile crude oil costs and declining solvent prices.
Looking ahead, the n-Heptane price trend is expected to remain weak in the short term. However, should crude oil prices stabilize and pharmaceutical sector demand recover, moderate price adjustments may occur in the following weeks.
Market participants also reported increased inventories in major production bases, further exerting pressure on spot prices. In response, traders have been offering discounts to stimulate sales, particularly in East and North China.
