Dimethylacetamide
N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is a colorless to yellow liquid with a faint, specific amine-like odor. It is miscible with water and other organic substances. It is a versatile intermediate with a variety of applications for example as solvent.
DMAc is an excellent solvent with high solving power for high molecular-weight polymers and synthetic resins. DMAc is used as a reaction solvent for the manufacture of acryl and polyamide fibres. DMAc is also used for the manufacture of agro chemicals, dyes and pharmaceuticals.

What is Dimethylacetamide (CAS: 127-19-5) ?
Dimethylacetamide (CAS: 127-19-5) is a water-miscible organic compound in the form of a colourless liquid with an odour similar to ammonia. This compound is a member of the high boiling point acetamide class.
Dimethylacetamide (CAS: 127-19-5) is commonly used as a polar solvent in organic synthesis.
In 2011, Dimethylacetamide (CAS: 127-19-5) was recognized by the EU as a substance of very high concern (SVHC) due to its reproductive and fertility toxicity.
In addition, in 2014, this compound has been investigated for restriction of use in the EU under REACH. In addition to its reproductive toxicity, it is also an irritant for skin, eyes or inhalation.
Occupational exposure to Dimethylacetamide in excess of 400mg/kg body weight per day may have effects on the central nervous system.
